About Cheskas-LS Syrup

AMBROXOL+GUAIFENESIN+LEVOSALBUTAMOL belongs to the class of medicines called 'expectorants' primarily used to treat cough associated with mucus. Coughing (dry or productive) is a body’s way of clearing irritants (like allergens, mucus or smoke) from airways and preventing infection. There are two types of coughs, namely: dry cough and chesty cough. A dry cough is tickly and doesn't produce any vicious or thick mucus, while a chesty cough (wet cough) means mucous or sputum is produced to help clear your airways.

Medicinal Benefits of Cheskas-LS Syrup

AMBROXOL+GUAIFENESIN+LEVOSALBUTAMOL is a combination of three drugs, namely: Levosalbutamol, Ambroxol and Guaifenesin used to treat cough associated with mucus. Levosalbutamol belongs to the class of bronchodilators that works by relaxing muscles and widening the airways of the lungs. Ambroxol belongs to the class of mucolytic agents (cough/sputum thinner) that works by thinning and loosening phlegm (mucus) in lungs, windpipe and nose. Thereby, helps to cough out easily. Guaifenesin belongs to the class of expectorants that works by increasing the volume of fluid in the airways, reduce the stickiness of mucus and helps to remove it from airways.

Directions for Use

Shake the bottle well before use. Check the label for directions and take AMBROXOL+GUAIFENESIN+LEVOSALBUTAMOL with or without food in doses as prescribed by your doctor with the help of a measuring cup that is provided with the pack.

Side Effects of Cheskas-LS Syrup

Like all medicines, AMBROXOL+GUAIFENESIN+LEVOSALBUTAMOL can cause some common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, headache, dizziness, skin rash, tremor, stomach upset and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects of AMBROXOL+GUAIFENESIN+LEVOSALBUTAMOL do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects worsen or persist, please consult your doctor.

Drug-Drug Interaction:

 AMBROXOL+GUAIFENESIN+LEVOSALBUTAMOL may have interaction with antibiotics (erythromycin, doxycycline, cefuroxime, amoxicillin), water pills (furosemide), bronchodilators (albuterol, formoterol, vilanterol), anti-sickness drug (ondansetron), steroids (prednisone, budesonide).

Drug-Disease Interaction:

 If you have diabetes, fits, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, stomach ulcers, phenylketonuria (a birth defect that causes accumulation of amino acid, phenylalanine in the body), kidney, liver or heart problems, inform your doctor before taking AMBROXOL+GUAIFENESIN+LEVOSALBUTAMOL

PREGNANCY

BREAST FEEDING

• It is unknown whether AMBROXOL+GUAIFENESIN+LEVOSALBUTAMOL is excreted in human milk. AMBROXOL+GUAIFENESIN+LEVOSALBUTAMOL is given to breastfeeding mothers only if the doctor thinks benefits are greater than risks.

DRIVING

• AMBROXOL+GUAIFENESIN+LEVOSALBUTAMOL may cause dizziness or drowsiness in some people. Therefore, drive only if you are alert after taking AMBROXOL+GUAIFENESIN+LEVOSALBUTAMOL.

LIVER

• Take AMBROXOL+GUAIFENESIN+LEVOSALBUTAMOL with caution, especially if you have a history of Liver diseases/conditions. The dose may be adjusted by your doctor as required.

KIDNEY

• Take AMBROXOL+GUAIFENESIN+LEVOSALBUTAMOL with caution, especially if you have a history of Kidney diseases/conditions. The dose may be adjusted by your doctor as required.
